In HVAC system, the mixing of two air stream is commonly seen. Such as the mixing of return air and outdoor air in return chamber of AHU before entering the cooling coil. The process can be assumed that it occur in a well insulated mixing chamber –> no heat transfer of the mixing process with surrounding. This process is called adiabatic mixing process.
