As we discussed in pressure-enthalpy diagram of the vapor compresion refrigeration cycle and shown in the How the vapor compression refrigeration cycle work? and Pressure-enthalpy diagram (P-h) at various conditions, however, the actual is different from the ideal case.
P-h diagram of the actual refrigeration system deviates from the ideal case as the results of:
- Pressure drop in Evaporator and Condenser
- Pressure drop across suction and discharge valves of Comp
- Heat transfer in Compressor
- Pressure drop and heat transfer in connecting pipe lines
- Requirement of superheated and subcooled of the system
Understanding the actual system and the P-h diagram helps us troubleshoot issues that may be encountered on-site.
