In Chilled water cooling coil characteristic, we knows that the nature characteristic of cooling coil is non-linear. In order to linearize the output of the cooling coil, the opposite characteristic of control valve is required. So, the equal percentage valve is typically used to linearly control the output of the cooling coil. This will give the heat output of cooling coil tend to be nearly linear with control valve movement.
