Open-loop control

An open-loop control strategy uses a fixed relationship between outdoor air temperature and the desired cooling output to manipulate the control action. Based on the outdoor temperature measured by a sensor, the controller adjusts the chilled water control valve to regulate flow through the cooling coil, thereby modulating its cooling capacity—without feedback from the actual indoor temperature.
