This note illustrate the cooling and dehumidification process. The process is shown on the Psychrometric chart as a line that changing in both temperature and humidity ratio. The hot and humid entering air (EA) flow through the cooling coil, reject heat to cooling media inside the cooling coil, it temperature drop. Due to some of the external surface of cooling coil temperature is lower than the dew point temperature of the entering air, therefore the air begin to condense. The air pass throught cooling coil is divided into two stream, first the air that contact to the coil (aka contact air) and second the air that bypass the coil (aka bypass air). The leaving air is the mixing condition of contact air and bypass air. The leaving air is about 85%rh – 95%rh. This process usualy called as “wet coil”.
