Psychrometric process – sensible cooling

This note illustrate the sensible cooling only process. The process is shown on the Psychrometric chart as a line that parallel to humidity ratio line. It means that the hot entering air (EA) flow through the cooling coil, reject heat to cooling media inside the cooling coil, it temperature drop. In this process, the external surface temperature of the cooling coil is higher than the dew point temperature of the entering air, so no condensation occurs; aka “dry coil”.

In this process, total heat is same as sensible heat. No condensation means no latent heat.
