Humidity control by over-cooled and reheat

As illustrated in the previous notes; Air conditioning process in summer at partial load condition Part 1 (CAV) and Air conditioning process in summer at partial load condition Part 2 (VAV) ,both CAV and VAV systems struggle to control relative humidity during part-load conditions. If the space humidity rises above acceptable levels (typically >60% RH), a dedicated humidity control strategy must be integrated into the system design. Engineers typically select between two primary methods: over-cooling with reheat, or a Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS). This section shows the over-cooling and reheat strategy. DOAS will be covered in the next post.
